NWF State College has a large variety of resources available to assist our students with academic endeavors. Typical resources used by our online students are listed below. Academic Calendar - This website provides you with important dates for your experience at NWF State College. Dates are not always final. Be sure to note the First Day of Classes, Add/drop ends, exam dates and more.

Academic Success Center -, 850-729-5389: Our Academic Success Center is a FREE on-campus service provided by NWF State College for all of our students. For our online students, the Academic Success Center will even provide E-mail tutoring! Check out the site!

Advising - several useful E-mails and phone numbers are within the site: NWF State College has Academic Advisors at each of our seven locations. Each advisor is equipped to assist students with their long term educational goals.

Academic Advising is a collaborative relationship between a highly trained higher education professional and students to assist in developing the knowledge and understanding of the processes and procedures to obtain a higher education certificate or degree. Your academic goals should align with your personal interests, values, and abilities.

Even after the first semester of enrollment, Academic Advisors are available to answer any questions, assist in registration, and assist in the completion of many administrative tasks.

Career Center -, 850-729-5227: The NWF State College Career Center provides resources and opportunities to students and prospective students to help them discover career paths through assessments, career advising, workshops, employment and internship opportunities.

CLEP and DANTES (DSST), 850-729-6017 (Testing Center): Reduce the number of courses needed to complete your degree by taking advantage of CLEP - College Level Exam Program or DANTES Subject Standarized Test (DSST)

FERPA Information - Northwest Florida State College upholds the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA),
which gives students the right to inspect, review, and amend their educational records. 

Learning Resources Center (Library) - 850-729-5395 (Reference Desk), 850-729-5318 (Circulation Desk): Find journals, books, magazines, videos, e-books and more. This website offers a variety of means to gain help with your research needs.

Military Support - 850-200-4180 (Eglin), 850-200-4190 (Hurlburt) NWF State College is an official "Military Friendly School" and offers a variety of specialized services and programs for members of the military, veterans and their dependents.

Open Computer Labs - several phone numbers are available for different campus locations: Technology and the Internet are integral parts of the education process at NWF State College. In keeping with current educational practice, students will be expected to use computer technology and Internet communication throughout their college experience. All classes offered at NWF State College may require use of the Internet; such use may vary depending on the class delivery mode (traditional, hybrid, or online). Open computer labs are available for student use and success. Find locations and hours at this site. Our online students are always welcome!

ProctorU - Proctored Exams - Proctored testing outside of the classroom environment.

Reading to Learn (R2L) - part of Academic Support -, 850-729-5389: Because college students face heavy reading loads, they often find that keeping up with reading assignments is challenging and time-consuming. Reading to Learn (R2L) at NWF State College is available to help. R2L is a project of NWF State College designed to support students' learning through direct instruction of reading strategies. Reading strategies are powerful tools that help students become skilled readers of their textbooks. Learn more at this site!

Registration/Registrar/Admissions -, 850-729-4901, NWF State College offers a variety of different degree and certificate options to allow you to become successful. Whether you are planning on pursuing a Bachelor's degree program, looking to improve your job skills or entering a new career field, NWF State College can get you there faster while paying among the lowest tuition in the state.

Smarthinking - part of Academic Support -, 850-729-5389: Smarthinking is an online, real-time tutoring service providing FREE help from qualified tutors in writing, math, Spanish, accounting, economics, chemistry, physics, biology, anatomy and physiology. Additionally, students in the nursing programs are able to access specific online tutoring for subjects in the nursing field.

Students may contact a live tutor for immediate help, schedule a session, or submit papers or questions for feedback via E-mail. Students also may access the Smarthinking Writing Center online. Smarthinking allows students to get help quickly with academic challenges, before they fall too far behind in their college subjects.

Testing Center - 850-729-6017: NWF State College Testing Centers administer college admission tests, placement tests, proctored exams, ACT/SAT, GED, CLEP, and DSST (formerly known as DANTES).
